1. Excavate the trench to the required length and width. Allow for the thickness of the drainage cell, 50mm to each side and minimum 100mm cover above the drainage cell.

2. Place the pre-wrapped filter pipe along the length of the trench and butt together inside each sleeve. If supplied unwrapped, you will need to roll filter fabric along the trench and wrap the drainage cell inside the fabric.

3. Connect outlet pipes to the end of each filter pipe by inserting inside the sleeve and duct taping the fabric around the pipe.

4. Back-fill the trench with coarse washed river sand to the sides of the trench. Topsoil may be placed over the top for the growing medium.

5. Compact the trench with light machinery.
