3. Installation of a 10 000 litre tank at a display home on a residential housing estate.

Increased water restrictions in Brisbane and SE Queensland have prompted the state government and local councils to offer rebates for people who install rainwater tanks.

Many of the building blocks have limited room for an above ground tank. Therefore, in many cases installing an underground tank is seen as a more viable option.

The Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use Tank has been accepted for newly constructed houses on a housing estate in a Brisbane suburb.

A 10 000 Litre Re-use Tank was installed for one of the display homes. Extra-duty EnviroModules were placed within a welded liner and installed underneath the driveway of the house.

A submersible pump is connected to a Davey Rainbank that monitors the water level in the tank and automatically switches over to mains water when the tank is near empty.

The tank was installed in less than a day. The ability to locate these tanks under the driveway has made use of otherwise, unusable land area on each block.

Geotextile is laid over the base.   The welded liner is placed to the base and sides of the pit.

Extra-duty EnviroModules are stacked within the liner.   The base liner is secured to the top of the tank using zip ties.

The liner lid is placed over the top of the tank and overlaps the base liner.   The EnviroSump is positioned on top of the tank.

The tank is surrounded in geotextile to protect the liner.   The tank is back-filled with sand.
