| 1. Installation of
5 cubic metre Infiltration Tank - Casuarina Beach Sub-Division,
NSW |
| |
Casuarina Beach is located on the
Tweed Coast in Northern NSW. This project was designed
with a major focus on environmental issues and required
each house to have an on-site stormwater management system.
AUSDRAIN™ identified this project as a potential
for the EnviroModule Infiltration System and following
a generic engineering design and council approval installed
the first infiltration system for the first house built
at Casuarina late in 2001.
Since then, the AUSDRAIN™ system has been installed
on most houses throughout the development and has also
been adopted for the adjacent Salt project.
Each system consists of an EnviroSump to pre-filter stormwater
and an EnviroModule Infiltration Tank surrounded in geotextile
fabric. There is also a small surface pit that feeds into
a landscaped overland swale should surcharge occur.
The generic design, designed by Cardno MBK on the Gold
Coast, has a sizing table that calculates the size of
the tank for each house based on roof area. This design
has made it easy for owners seeking building approval
to submit plans to council without the added expense of
engineering designs for the stormwater. |
