The AUSDRAIN™
EnviroSump has been designed to filter stormwater
from roofs and pavement areas and to discharge clean
water to the AUSDRAIN™ tank. This has resulted
in a low cost, effective and easy to maintain stormwater
filtration unit.
Each unit consists of a 600x600x700mm
polyethylene pit containing a removable stainless
steel basket with handles and a 200 or 400 micron
filter bag depending on flow and filtration requirements.
In most cases a 400 micron bag is supplied to meet
a range of rainfall intensities. A 600x600x300mm riser
is also available allowing the flexibility to achieve
required invert levels.
The filter bag is easily removed
for cleaning, the contents discarded as compost in
the garden and the bag washed under a tap. There is
no costly maintenance expense involved.
Each pit is supplied with a plastic
lid, however, if required a light duty galvanised
grate can also be supplied to allow surface water
to drain to the pit. The EnviroSump should not be
installed in a driveway and is not trafficable unless
the driveway slab is designed to relieve any loadings
from the pit. This can be done by setting a medium
or heavy duty grate in concrete surround into the
driveway above the pit.
The AUSDRAIN™ EnviroSump
is suitable for residential applications and small
commercial projects. It is important to note that
the EnviroSump is limited to the filtration of sediment
and organic matter and cannot be used to filter other
pollutants such as grease, oil and nutrients. In high
rainfall areas and depending on the surface area of
run-off it may be necessary to install more than one
EnviroSump to cope with the actual potential rate
of discharge.
