1. Excavate a suitable area to allow for the installation
of the 600x600x700mm pit.
2. If additional depth is required a 600x600x300mm
riser is available.
3. If installing in a driveway allow an additional
150mm above the top of the pit for a 150mm thick
concrete collar.
4. Provide a layer of filter fabric and a bed of
at least 50mm of sand under the pit.
5. Cut the holes where required above the filter
basket for the inlet pipe and below the filter
basket for the outlet pipe.
6. Provide a couple of weep holes in the base of
the pit to allow excess water to drain.
7. Insert the pit into the excavated area and fit
pipes as required.
8. Allow each pipe to protrude 25mm inside the
pit and seal with silicone.
9. Backfill the pit and compact the surrounding
ground ensuring that the pit is backfilled where
the recessed compartments are. There should be
no movement of the pit in the ground following
this step.
10. If installing in a driveway set a collar of
concrete around the top of the pit to allow a
540x540 galvanised grate to be dropped in. The
collar should be set into a re-inforced concrete
slab so there is no actual weight on the pit itself.
11. Ensure that the stainless steel basket and
filter bag are placed inside the pit.
12. Unless installed under a non load bearing slab,
the pit is non-trafficable.
