A
24 lot subdivision near Croudace Bay, NSW required
stormwater to be treated for nutrients before discharging
to the waterway.
A 5 cubic metre nutrient removal tank and a 5 cubic
metre infiltration tank were installed on each lot.
Downpipes from each house are connected to an AUSDRAIN™
EnviroSump to remove sediment and leaf matter. From
there the water passes into the nutrient removal tank
where secondary treatment occurs. This tank is designed
to accept the first flush and allow this water to
slowly infiltrate back into the ground.
Excess water then flows into the infiltration tank
where it is temporarily stored and infiltrated. Any
excess water is discharged into the bay.
The use of AUSDRAIN™
tanks to capture the first flush, infiltrate or treat
and discharge has proven extremely effective in the
reduction of nutrients and pollutants flowing into
our waterways. |
