This
project involved the installation of 500 EnviroModules
(Approx. 55 cubic metres) to treat stormwater run-off
from the building roof and pavement area of a newly
constructed fire station. Brian Close of Close Consultants
in Fairlight, Sydney, designed the system.
The tank was installed in a long line to capture run-off
and disperse it over a broad area. Initial treatment
of stormwater occurs inside the tank before water
infiltrates through a layer of geotextile fabric.
The water then passes through a wide section of granite
rock where further treatment occurs.
The result is that clean water seeps naturally to
the reserve behind the fire station and into the creek
below.
