1 Fire Station in Tingara Heights, Lake Macquarie, NSW

This project involved the installation of 500 EnviroModules (Approx. 55 cubic metres) to treat stormwater run-off from the building roof and pavement area of a newly constructed fire station. Brian Close of Close Consultants in Fairlight, Sydney, designed the system.

The tank was installed in a long line to capture run-off and disperse it over a broad area. Initial treatment of stormwater occurs inside the tank before water infiltrates through a layer of geotextile fabric. The water then passes through a wide section of granite rock where further treatment occurs.

The result is that clean water seeps naturally to the reserve behind the fire station and into the creek below.

EnviroModules are installed in a long line (800mm wide x 900mm deep) and surrounded in geotextile fabric.   A wide section of granite boulders are placed adjacent to the tank to act as secondary treatment.
