TUNNEL DRAINAGE

DELTA-MS

For use as a sub-grade course below concrete slabs, foundation wall protection, or as seeper course in double-skinned constructions.

The various DELTA dimpled sheetings offer rational and dependable solutions for coping with water in all kinds of tunnel construction projects according to the existing mountain and water conditions. While the studs pointing outwards, that is against the ground or rock or a stabilizing and filtering shotcrete layer, a complete conduit system is provided by the spaces between the studs allowing the water to flow unimpeded to the drainage system. From the very start, water is prevented from building up against the waterproofing layer which can be fixed directly to the dimpled sheeting by appropriate fixing means. When water impervious concrete is used, DELTA dimpled sheeting serves as permanent formwork. The seepage water is held back during the curing phase.

Material

Studded membrane made of special, high-density polyethylene. Is harmless to drinking water and cannot rot in the earth.

Properties

Due to the studs facing the masonry, DELTA-MS ensures reliable separation between foundation wall and damp earth. The studs form ventilation channels, allowing the masonry to breathe. When the foundations are filled in, the studded membrane acts as a crumple zone. The seal is better protected. With over 1,800 studs per square metre, DELTA-MS is very resistant to pressure, able to withstand around 250kN. The membrane also ensures that the pressure on perimeter insulation is well distributed and not concentrated in a few spots.

Application
Building construction

For use where the ground conditions allow water seepage and where walls are sealed with a bitumen or leak-proof slurry type coating.

Underground and civil construction

For reliable, non-pressurised drainage of seeping water, fissure water and groundwater.

Screed

Used below screed, DELTA-MS provides reliable protection from rising damp.

DELTA-MS can be physically secured by fixing with raw plugs and nails or by clamping with plaster hooks and squared timber.

Laying time: Less than 4 mins/m². Thanks to its flat overlapping edge, always a precise, watertight fit. Its diagonal stud structure also allows it to be bent in straight lines and corners to formed with a precise edge.
